What I said—calling you ‘ṣaṇḍha-tilā’—was indeed true. For at that time, in the city of Virāṭa, Pārtha wore his hair in a braid.

english translation

And I remember you, O son of Kuntī, worn out by the work of a cook in Virāṭa’s great kitchen—and Bhīmasena’s condition there; and that, in my view, is proof of my manly superiority.

english translation

Thus indeed have kṣatriyas always imposed sanction upon a kṣatriya: one who withdraws from battle is marked with the śreṇī, the kakṣyā, and the veṇī—signs of disgrace.

english translation

Neither out of fear of Vāsudeva, nor of you, O Phalguna, will I return the kingdom. Fight as you will, together with Keśava.

english translation

Neither illusion, nor Indra-like conjuring, nor deceitful stratagems, nor intimidation will avail in my battle once I have taken up arms; challenge shall be met with challenge, and roar with counter-roar.
