This multitude of peoples, grown vast in the press of war, is like the Gaṅgā’s current—unchecked and uncheckable; and yet you would contend even with me, stationed amid an elephant-force. O dull one, why such scant understanding?

english translation

Having spoken thus to King Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Dharma, Ulūka turned back and then addressed Jiṣṇu (Arjuna) again.

english translation

Fight without boasting; why do you boast so much, Arjuna? Success here is won by due course and true execution, not by vainglorious speech.

english translation

If undertakings in the world were accomplished by boasting, O Dhanaṃjaya, then all would attain their aims—for even the unfortunate can boast at length.

english translation

I know that Vāsudeva stands as your ally; I know your Gāṇḍīva bow, formidable in its measure. I also know that there is no warrior like you—yet, knowing all this, I still appropriate your kingdom.
