महायन्त्राणि नाराचास्तोमरर्ष्टिपरश्वधाः । धनूंषि कवचादीनि हृद्यभूवन्नृणां तदा॥५-१४९-८१॥
At that time, large engines, iron arrows, javelins, spears, axes, bows, armor, and related equipment became a striking sight to the men.

गजाः कङ्कटसंनाहा लोहवर्मोत्तरच्छदाः । अदृश्यंस्तत्र गिर्याभाः सहस्रशतयोधिनः॥५-१४९-८२॥
Elephants were seen there, fitted with mail and covered with iron armor; resembling mountains, they appeared as formations of many hundreds and thousands of combatants.

निविष्टान्पाण्डवांस्तत्र ज्ञात्वा मित्राणि भारत । अभिसस्रुर्यथोद्देशं सबलाः सहवाहनाः॥५-१४९-८३॥
O Bhārata, having learned that the Pāṇḍavas were encamped there, their allies hastened to their respective assigned locations, together with their forces and vehicles.

चरितब्रह्मचर्यास्ते सोमपा भूरिदक्षिणाः । जयाय पाण्डुपुत्राणां समाजग्मुर्महीक्षितः॥५-१४९-८४॥
Those kings—who had observed disciplined brahmacarya, performed Soma-sacrifices, and bestowed abundant dakṣiṇā upon the priests—assembled for the victory of the sons of Pāṇḍu.
