Merely thinking, “I have strength,” you rashly seek to cross—like a camel attempting the swift current of the Gaṅgā, filled with crocodiles and other dangers.

english translation

Just as one imagines oneself adorned merely by putting on a garment, so you fancy yourself prosperous today—having, out of greed, obtained Yudhiṣṭhira’s royal fortune as though it were a discarded garland.

english translation

Who, even while established in a kingdom, can surpass the Pāṇḍava—Pārtha—accompanied by Draupadī and surrounded by his weapon-bearing brothers, even if he is dwelling in the forest?

english translation

He at whose command all kings stand as attendants—when Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira) approached that Ailavila (Kubera), he shone with singular distinction.

english translation

Having reached Kubera’s abode and obtained treasures there, the Pāṇḍavas—having advanced into your prosperous realm—seek the kingship.
