By Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s command, and also at his mother’s request, the chamberlain again led the impatient Duryodhana into the royal assembly.

english translation

Wishing to comply with his mother’s words, he entered the assembly again—his eyes reddened with anger, breathing heavily like a serpent.

english translation

Seeing her son enter—one who had taken to a wrongful course—Gāndhārī, reproving him, spoke words that were apt and well-reasoned.

english translation

Duryodhana, understand these words of mine, my son. They are for your welfare, together with their consequences, and for the arising of well-being in the time to come.

english translation

Show due reverence to Bhīṣma, to your father, and to me; and through you let there be reconciliation with your friends, beginning with Droṇa.
