Dice-gambling, O highly discerning one, destroys the composure of the virtuous; and among the unvirtuous, divisions and calamities arise from it.
english translation
Thus this grave calamity—having gambling as its entry-point—was brought about by you, without due consideration, in association with those of good conduct and with those bound to wrongdoing.
english translation
Who else would be fit to heap such humiliation upon a kinsman’s wife—bringing her into the assembly and addressing Draupadī as you addressed her?
english translation
Though she was of noble lineage, endowed with virtue, and dearer than life itself—the queen of the sons of Pāṇḍu—still you wronged her in that manner.
english translation
All the Kurus know what was spoken in the Kuru assembly: that the sons of Kuntī—subduers of foes—were driven into exile through Duḥśāsana’s actions.
