शायितौ स्थो मया भूमौ विसंज्ञौ सपुरस्सरौ । स्मृतिर्न तेऽस्ति वा मन्ये व्यक्तं यातो यमक्षयम् ॥ ६-८८-११
- on the Earth, you and your accomplice were made unconscious and laid low. Is it that you have lost memory, or you stood here on the way to Yama's abode, I think." ॥ 6-88-11॥
english translation
zAyitau stho mayA bhUmau visaMjJau sapurassarau । smRtirna te'sti vA manye vyaktaM yAto yamakSayam ॥ 6-88-11
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआशीविषसमं क्रुद्धं यन्माम् योद्धुमुपस्थितः । तच्छ्रुत्वा राक्षसेन्द्रस्य गर्जितं लक्ष्मणस्तदा ॥ ६-८८-१२
"Since you have come to give battle to me, enraged as I am, like a venomous serpent." Enraged in hearing that roaring of Indrajit, Lakshmana . - ॥ 6-88-12॥
english translation
AzIviSasamaM kruddhaM yanmAm yoddhumupasthitaH । tacchrutvA rAkSasendrasya garjitaM lakSmaNastadA ॥ 6-88-12
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभीतवदनः क्रुद्धो रावणिं वाक्यमब्रवीत् । उक्तश्च दुर्गमः पारः कार्याणां राक्षस त्वया ॥ ६-८८-१३
- spoke the following words, with fearless countenance. "O Rakshasa! It has been proclaimed by you about the successful conclusion of your tasks, even though it is difficult to achieve them." ॥ 6-88-13॥

abhItavadanaH kruddho rAvaNiM vAkyamabravIt । uktazca durgamaH pAraH kAryANAM rAkSasa tvayA ॥ 6-88-13
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकार्याणांकर्मणांपारंयोगच्छति स बुद्धिमान् । स त्वमर्थस्य हीनार्थो दुरवापस्य केनचित् ॥ ६-८८-१४
"He alone is clever, whoever carries through his undertakings in practice (not in words). The achievement of your end, which is difficult to attain for anyone, though you, as such, lack in capacity to achieve your purpose." ॥ 6-88-14॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptवाचा व्याहृत्य जानीषे कृतार्थोऽस्मिति दुर्मते । अंतर्धानगतेनाजौ यस्त्वया चरितस्तदा ॥ ६-८८-१५
"O evil-minded one! You are thinking that you have accomplished your end, by proclaiming through word alone. The path, which was followed on that day by you, becoming invisible in the battle-field - ॥ 6-88-15॥
