अथोवाचरघुश्रेष्टस्सागरंदारुणंवचः । अद्यत्वांशोषयिष्यामिसपाताळंमहार्णव: ॥ ६-२२-१
Thereafter, Rama uttered, "I shall make you dry up to the underworld", to the ocean that made his terrific presence. ॥ 6-22-1॥

"O Ocean When your water is dried up to the core by my arrows, huge sand will appear. ॥ 6-22-2॥

zaranirdagdhatoyasyaparizuSkasyasAgara: । mayAzoSitasattvasyapAMsurutpadyatemahAn ॥ 6-22-2
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमत्कार्मुकनिसृष्टेन शरवर्षेण सागर । परम् तीरम् गमिष्यन्ति पद्भिरेव प्लवङ्गमाः ॥ ६-२२-३
"O Ocean, now the monkeys will go to the other side of the shore on your drying up with all the creatures inhabiting you by the rain of arrows showered by me. ॥ 6-22-3॥

matkArmukanisRSTena zaravarSeNa sAgara । param tIram gamiSyanti padbhireva plavaGgamAH ॥ 6-22-3
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविचिन्वन्नाभिजानासिपौरुषंनापिविक्रमम् । दानवालयसन्तापंमत्तोनाधिगमिष्यसि ॥ ६-२२-४
"You, who are the abode of demons are not aware of my valour and prowess. You are not aware of the sorrow that you will face from me." ॥ 6-22-4॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्राह्मेणास्त्रेणसंयोज्यब्रह्मदण्डनिभम् शरम् । संयोज्यधनुषिश्रेष्ठविचकर्षमहाबलः ॥ ६-२२-५
Rama proceeded to stretch the mighty bow that resembled the rod of punishment of Brahma energized by Brahma and released that best of bows. ॥ 6-22-5॥
