तस्मिन्विकृष्टे सहसा राघवेण शरासने । रोदसी सम्पफालेव पर्वताश्च चकम्पिरे ॥ ६-२२-६

When Rama released the arrows from the bow, at once the sky to the earth including mountains trembled. ॥ 6-22-6॥

तमश्चलोकमाव्रतेदिशश्चवचकाशिरे । प्रतिचुक्षुभिरेचाशुसरांसिसरितस्तथा ॥ ६-२२-७

Then darkness engulfed the world, the directions were not noticeable and further the rivers were agitated. ॥ 6-22-7॥

The Sun and moon moved obliquely (from south to North) along with the stars. Though the sun's rays lighted the sky, it was enveloped by darkness . - ॥ 6-22-8॥

चकाशेतदाकाशमुल्काशतविदीपितम् । अन्तरिक्षाच्चनिर्घातानिर्जग्मुरतुलस्वनाः ॥ ६-२२-९

- and shined with a blaze of hundreds of meteors while thunders reverberated with an unparalleled sound in the sky. ॥ 6-22-9॥

वपुःप्रकर्षेण ववुर्दिव्यमारुतपङ्क्त्यः । बभञ्ज च तदा वृक्षान् जलदानुद्वहन् मुहुः ॥ ६-२२-१०

Then terrific wind blew breaking forth the clouds, which is an abode of cold water, taking them away in upward direction breaking trees. ॥ 6-22-10॥
