तद्रावणकरान्मुक्तंविद्युन्मालासमावृतम् । अष्टघण्टंमहानादंवियद्गतमशोभत ॥ ६-१०४-२१
The trident discharged from Ravana's hand, made circles of lightning, and covered the atmosphere with its glow and shine along with eight bells making loud sounds. [6-104-21]
english translation
तच्छूलंराघवोदृष्टवाज्वलन्तंघोरदर्शनम् । ससर्जविशिखान्रामश्चापमायम्यवीर्यवान् ॥ ६-१०४-२२
Valiant Raghava, seeing the glowing trident that was horrible to look at, loosed a number of arrows at it. [6-104-22]
english translation
आपतन्तंशरौघेणवारयामासराघवः । उत्पतन्तंयुगान्तानगिंजलौघैरिववासवः ॥ ६-१०४-२३
Raghava intercepted the trident, just as the fire was obstructed by the flow of water, at the time of universal dissolution, and obstructed. [6-104-23]
english translation
निर्ददाह स तान्बाणान्रामकार्मुकनिःसृतान् । रावणस्यमहान् शूलःपतङ्गानिवपावकः ॥ ६-१०४-२४
The arrows released from Rama's bow fell on the great trident of Ravana and burnt like moths falling in fire. [6-104-24]
english translation
तान्दृष्टवाभस्मसाद्भूतान्शूलसम्स्पर्शचूर्णितान् । सायकानन्तरिक्षस्थान् राघवःक्रोधमाहरत् ॥ ६-१०४-२५
Rama was overcome with fury on seeing his arrows being crushed to powder in the sky on touching the trident and reduced to ashes. [6-104-25]
