शस्त्रवर्णस्सुपरुषोमन्दरश्मिद्दिवाकरः । अदृश्यतकबन्धाङ्कःसंसक्तोधूमकेतुना ॥ ६-१०३-३६

The Sun seemed without radiance like the colour of weapon (grey), in the form of Kabhanda (headless trunk), combined with Dhumakethu. [6-103-36]

english translation

कोसलानां च नक्षत्रंव्यक्तमिन्द्राग्निदैवतम् । आक्रम्याङ्गारकस्तस्थौविशाखामपिचाम्बरे ॥ ६-१०३-३७

The planet Angaraka (Mars) stood assailing in the sky, the constellation Vishakha, presided over by the gods Indra and Agni (the god of fire), which is adorned by the kings of Kosala. [6-103-37]

english translation

दशास्योविंशतिभुजःप्रगृहीतशरासनः । अदृशास्यःदशग्रीवःमैनाकःपर्वतःइव ॥ ६-१०३-३८

Ravana with ten heads and twenty arms seizing his bow appeared like the Mynaka mountain. [6-103-38]

english translation

निरस्यमानोरामस्तुदशग्रीवेणरक्षसा । नाशक्नोदभिसन्धातुंसायकान्रणमूर्धनि ॥ ६-१०३-३९

While Ravana with ten heads and arms was ready in the forefront of the battle, Sri Rama had no possibility to fix his arrows. [6-103-39]

सःकृत्वाभ्रुकुटिंक्रुद्धःकिञ्चित्सम्रक्तलोचनः । जगामसुमहाक्रोधंनिर्दहन्निवचक्षुषा ॥ ६-१०३-४०

The enraged Rama, knitting his eye-brows and with his eyes turned slightly blood-red, was provoked to fierce anger, as though he would burn out the Rakshasa. [6-103-40]
