Grieving in this manner, lost control over senses, and discrimination, Rama was sighing again and again and was pitiable. [6-102-16]

'Of what use is the kingdom for me, without Lakshmana, who was difficult to over power? What can I tell to Sumitra, the mother who was so fond of her son?' [6-102-17]

राममाश्वासयनवीरसुषेनोवाक्यमब्रवीत । न मृथोयंमहाबाहो लक्ष्मणोलक्षमिवर्धन: । न चास्यविक्रतंवक्त्रानापिशस्वासं न निष्प्रभं ॥ ६-१०२-१८

Sushena, the hero consoling Rama spoke these words. 'O Broad shouldered Rama! Enhancer of prosperity, Lakshmana is not dead. His face has not changed, and he has not lost splendour.' [6-102-18]

सुप्रभंसुप्रसन्नं च मुखमस्यनिरीक्ष्यताम् । पद्मपत्रतलौहस्तौसुप्रसन्ने च लोचने ॥ ६-१०२-१९

'His face is radiant and pleasing to see. His palms are like red lotuses and his eyes are so pleasant'. [6-102-19]

'O hero! Those who cease to live will not have such appearance and signs. He who is a tamer of foes is alive. I tell you, do not grieve.' [6-102-20]
