अगस्त्य एव कृत्स्नं तु वातापिं बुभुजे ततः भुक्तवत्य असुरॊ ऽऽहवानम अकरॊत तस्य इल्वलः ॥ ३-९७-६ ॥
'Then Agastya alone ate the entire Vātāpi. After he had eaten, Ilvala called out to (summoned) that demon.' ॥ 3-97-6 ॥
english translation
ततॊ वायुः परादुरभूद अगस्त्यस्य महात्मनः इल्वलश च विषण्णॊ ऽभूद दृष्ट्वा जीर्णं महासुरम ॥ ३-९७-७ ॥
'Then the illustrious sage Agastya, bursting into laughter, said, 'How can he emerge now? I have already fully digested the great Asura.'' ॥ 3-97-7 ॥
english translation
पराञ्जलिश च सहामात्यैर इदं वचनम अब्रवीत किमर्थम उपयाताः सथ बरूत किं करवाणि वः ॥ ३-९७-८ ॥
'Seeing his brother fully digested, Ilwala grew sorrowful and dejected. With joined hands and his ministers by his side, he addressed the Rishi and his companions, saying, 'What brings you here, and how may I serve you?'' ॥ 3-97-8 ॥

परत्युवाच ततॊ ऽगस्त्यः परहसन्न इल्वलं तदा ईशं हय असुर विद्मस तवां वयं सर्वे धनेश्वरम ॥ ३-९७-९ ॥
'Agastya, with a smile, replied to Ilwala, saying, 'We know you, O Asura, to be mighty and possessed of immense wealth.'' ॥ 3-97-9 ॥
english translation
इमे च नातिधनिनॊ धनार्थश च महान मम यथाशक्त्य अविहिंस्यान्यान संविभागं परयच्छ नः ॥ ३-९७-१० ॥
'These kings possess little wealth, and my need for it is also great. Grant us what you can, without causing harm to others.' ॥ 3-97-10 ॥
