ततॊ ऽभिवाद्य तम ऋषिम इल्वलॊ वाक्यम अब्रवीत दित्सितं यदि वेत्सि तवं ततॊ दास्यामि ते वसु ॥ ३-९७-११ ॥
'Thus addressed, Ilwala saluted the Rishi and said, 'If you can name what I intend to give, then I shall grant you the wealth.'' ॥ 3-97-11 ॥
english translation
tatò 'bhivAdya tama RSima ilvalò vAkyama abravIta ditsitaM yadi vetsi tavaM tatò dAsyAmi te vasu ॥ 3-97-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript[अ] गवां दशसहस्राणि राज्ञाम एकैकशॊ ऽसुर तावद एव सुवर्णस्य दित्सितं ते महासुर ॥ ३-९७-१२ ॥
'O mighty Asura, you have resolved to give each of these kings ten thousand cattle and an equal number of gold coins.'' ॥ 3-97-12 ॥
english translation
[a] gavAM dazasahasrANi rAjJAma ekaikazò 'sura tAvada eva suvarNasya ditsitaM te mahAsura ॥ 3-97-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमह्यं ततॊ वै दविगुणं रथश चैव हिरन मयः मनॊजवौ वाजिनौ च दित्सितं ते महासुर जिज्ञास्यतां रथः सद्यॊ वयक्तम एष हिरन मयः ॥ ३-९७-१३ ॥
'Then indeed a double (reward) for me and also a golden chariot, and two swift horses as fast as thought - these you wish to give, O great demon. Let the chariot be examined immediately - clearly this is (made) of gold.' ॥ 3-97-13 ॥
english translation
mahyaM tatò vai daviguNaM rathaza caiva hirana mayaH manòjavau vAjinau ca ditsitaM te mahAsura jijJAsyatAM rathaH sadyò vayaktama eSa hirana mayaH ॥ 3-97-13 ॥

'Thereupon, O son of Kunti, Ilwala made inquiries and discovered that the chariot he had planned to give was truly golden.' ॥ 3-97-14 ॥

[la] jijJAsyamAnaH sa rathaH kaunteyAsIda dhirana mayaH tataH paravyathitò daityò dadAva abhyadhikaM vasu ॥ 3-97-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविवाजश च सुवाजश च तस्मिन युक्तौ रथे हयौ ऊहतुस तौ वसून्य आशु तान्य अगस्त्याश्रमं परति सर्वान राज्ञः सहागस्त्यान निमेषाद इव भारत ॥ ३-९७-१५ ॥
'With a heavy heart, the Daitya then presented much wealth and that chariot, yoked to two steeds named Virava and Surava. And those steeds, O Bharata, swiftly transported the kings, Agastya, and all that wealth to the hermitage of Agastya in the blink of an eye.' ॥ 3-97-15 ॥
english translation
vivAjaza ca suvAjaza ca tasmina yuktau rathe hayau Uhatusa tau vasUnya Azu tAnya agastyAzramaM parati sarvAna rAjJaH sahAgastyAna nimeSAda iva bhArata ॥ 3-97-15 ॥
