महानदी च तत्रैव तथा गय शिरॊ ऽनघ यथासौ कीर्त्यते विप्रैर अक्षय्य करणॊ वटः यत्र दत्तं पितृभ्यॊ ऽननम अक्षय्यं भवति परभॊ ॥ ३-८५-८ ॥
'There, O monarch, flows a great river, and there is a site known as Gayasira. In Gayasira stands a banyan tree, revered by the Brahmanas as the Eternal Banyan, for the food offered there to the Pitris becomes everlasting, O exalted one!' ॥ 3-85-8 ॥
