तत्राश्रमॊ वसिष्ठस्य तरिषु लॊकेषु विश्रुतः तत्राभिषेकं कुर्वाणॊ वाजपेयम अवाप्नुयात ॥ ३-८२-१२१ ॥
'In that tirtha lies the sanctuary of Vasishtha, renowned throughout the three worlds. By bathing there, one attains the merit of the Vajapeya sacrifice.' ॥ 3-82-121 ॥
english translation
देवकूटं समासाद्य बरह्मर्षिगणसेवितम अश्वमेधम अवाप्नॊति कुलं चैव समुद्धरेत ॥ ३-८२-१२२ ॥
'Next, upon reaching Devakuta, frequented by celestial Rishis, one attains the merit of the Ashvamedha sacrifice and also uplifts one’s lineage.' ॥ 3-82-122 ॥
english translation
ततॊ गच्छेत राजेन्द्र कौशिकस्य मुनेर हरदम यत्र सिद्धिं परां पराप्तॊ विश्वा मित्रॊ ऽथ कौशिकः ॥ ३-८२-१२३ ॥
'Then, O king, one should go to the lake of the sage Kausika, where Viswamitra, the son of Kusika, attained great success.' ॥ 3-82-123 ॥
english translation
तत्र मासं वसेद वीर कौशिक्यां भरतर्षभ अश्वमेधस्य यत पुण्यं तन मासेनाधिगच्छति ॥ ३-८२-१२४ ॥
'By bathing there, one attains the merit of the Vajapeya sacrifice. There, O hero, in Kausika, one should reside for a month, O bull among the Bharatas!' ॥ 3-82-124 ॥
english translation
सर्वतीर्थवरे चैव यॊ वसेत महाह्रदे न दुर्गतिम अवाप्नॊति विन्देद बहुसुवर्णकम ॥ ३-८२-१२५ ॥
'By residing there for a month, one attains the merit of the Ashvamedha sacrifice. He who dwells at the revered tirtha known as Maha-hrada experiences freedom from misfortune and also gains the merit of generously giving away abundant gold.' ॥ 3-82-125 ॥
