[व] धनंजयॊत्सुकास ते तु वने तस्मिन महारथाः नयवसन्त महाभागा दरौपद्या सह पाण्डवाः ।। ३-८०-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said, "Hearing the words of his brothers and of Krishna, all of whom were deeply anxious about Dhananjaya, King Yudhishthira, the just, grew despondent and his heart was weighed down with melancholy."' ।। 3-80-1 ।।

english translation

[va] dhanaMjayòtsukAsa te tu vane tasmina mahArathAH nayavasanta mahAbhAgA daraupadyA saha pANDavAH || 3-80-1 ||

अथापश्यन महात्मानं देवर्षिं तत्र नारदम दीप्यमानं शरिया बराह्म्या दीप्ताग्निसमतेजसम ।। ३-८०-२ ।।

'And at that moment, he beheld the celestial sage Narada, radiant with divine beauty, like a fire kindled by the offerings of sacrifice, illuminating the space before him.' ।। 3-80-2 ।।

athApazyana mahAtmAnaM devarSiM tatra nAradama dIpyamAnaM zariyA barAhmyA dIptAgnisamatejasama || 3-80-2 ||

स तैः परिवृतः शरीमान भरातृभिः कुरुसत्तमः विबभाव अतिदीप्तौजॊ देवैर इव शतक्रतुः ।। ३-८०-३ ।।

sanskrit

'As the illustrious sage approached, King Yudhishthira and his brothers rose to their feet and respectfully worshipped him. Endowed with radiant energy, the handsome chief of the Kuru lineage, surrounded by his brothers, shone like the god of a hundred sacrifices encircled by celestial beings.' ।। 3-80-3 ।।

sa taiH parivRtaH zarImAna bharAtRbhiH kurusattamaH vibabhAva atidIptaujò devaira iva zatakratuH || 3-80-3 ||

'And Yajnaseni, in her adherence to righteousness, remained devoted to her lords, the sons of Pritha, much like Savitri clings to the Vedas or the rays of the Sun cling to the peak of Meru.' ।। 3-80-4 ।।

yathA ca vedAna sAvitrI yAjJasenI tathA satI na jahau dharmataH pArthAna meruma arkaprabhA yathA || 3-80-4 ||
