पुनः परवर्ततां दयूतम इति मे निश्चिता मतिः एकपाणेन भद्रं ते पराणयॊश च पणावहे ॥ ३-७७-६ ॥

'This is my firm resolve. May you be blessed; let us wager all that we possess along with our lives.' ॥ 3-77-6 ॥

english translation

जित्वा परस्वम आहृत्य राज्यं वा यदि वा वसु परतिपाणः परदातव्यः परं हि धनम उच्यते ॥ ३-७७-७ ॥

'According to the ordinance, it is a noble duty to stake what one has gained, including another's wealth or kingdom, when the rightful owner demands it.' ॥ 3-77-7 ॥

english translation

न चेद वाञ्छसि तद दयूतं युद्धद्यूतं परवर्तताम दवैरथेनास्तु वै शान्तिस तव वा मम वा नृप ॥ ३-७७-८ ॥

'Or, if you do not wish to engage in a game of dice, let us instead commence a contest of arms. O King, may peace be established for either of us through single combat.' ॥ 3-77-8 ॥

english translation

वंशभॊज्यम इदं राज्यं मार्गितव्यं यथा तथा येन तेनाप्य उपायेन वृद्धानाम इति शासनम ॥ ३-७७-९ ॥

'That this ancestral kingdom should be reclaimed under all circumstances and by any means is supported by the authority of the sages.' ॥ 3-77-9 ॥

english translation

दवयॊर एकतरे बुद्धिः करियताम अद्य पुष्कर कैतवेनाक्षवत्यां वा युद्धे वा नम्यतां धनुः ॥ ३-७७-१० ॥

'And, O Pushkara, choose one of these two options: a game of dice or the bending of the bow in battle!' ॥ 3-77-10 ॥
