अभ्येत्य कुशलं भद्रे मृदुपूर्वं समाहिता पृच्छेथाः पुरुषं हय एनं यथातत्त्वम अनिन्दिते ॥ ३-७२-२ ॥

sanskrit

'Approach him gently, with words of courtesy, and make polite inquiries. Learn all the details with care and report back truthfully.' ॥ 3-72-2 ॥

english translation

abhyetya kuzalaM bhadre mRdupUrvaM samAhitA pRcchethAH puruSaM haya enaM yathAtattvama anindite ॥ 3-72-2 ॥
