सॊ ऽनुमान्य नरश्रेष्ठान पाण्डवान कुरुनन्दनान नियॊगाद राजसिंहस्य गन्तुम अर्हसि मानद ॥ ३-७-१६ ॥
'With the permission of these noble Kuru princes, it is incumbent upon you, at the behest of that lion among kings, to go back to him.' ॥ 3-7-16 ॥

एवम उक्तस तु विदुरॊ धीमान सवजनवत्सलः युधिष्ठिरस्यानुमते पुनर आयाद गजाह्वयम ॥ ३-७-१७ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, 'Thus addressed by Sanjaya, the wise Vidura, ever devoted to his kin, with Yudhishthira's permission, journeyed back to the city named after the elephant (Gajapathya).'' ॥ 3-7-17 ॥

तम अब्रवीन महाप्राज्ञं धृतराष्ट्रः परतापवान दिष्ट्या पराप्तॊ ऽसि धर्मज्ञ दिष्ट्या समरसि मे ऽनघ ॥ ३-७-१८ ॥
'Upon reaching Dhritarashtra, the mighty son of Amvika, the king spoke to him, saying, "O Vidura, it is truly due to my fortune that you, virtuous and well-versed in righteousness, have come here, remembering me!"' ॥ 3-7-18 ॥

अद्य रात्रौ दिवा चाहं तवत्कृते भरतर्षभ परजागरे पपश्यामि विचित्रं देहम आत्मनः ॥ ३-७-१९ ॥
'Dhritarashtra said, "O bull of the Bharata race, during your absence, I was constantly observing myself, sleepless both day and night, as though I were lost upon the earth!"' ॥ 3-7-19 ॥

सॊ ऽङकम आदाय विदुरं मूर्ध्न्य उपाघ्राय चैव ह कषम्यताम इति चॊवाच यद उक्तॊ ऽसि मया रुषा ॥ ३-७-२० ॥
'The king then embraced Vidura, smelled his head, and said, "Forgive me, O sinless one, for the harsh words I spoke to you!"' ॥ 3-7-20 ॥
