बृहदश्व उवाच एवं विमृश्य विविधैः कारणैर लक्षणैश च ताम उपगम्य ततॊ भैमीं सुदेवॊ बराह्मणॊ ऽबरवीत ॥ ३-६५-२६ ॥
'Brihadaswa continued, "After reflecting on these various circumstances and signs, the Brahmana Sudeva approached Damayanti."' ॥ 3-65-26 ॥
english translation
अहं सुदेवॊ वैधर्भि भरातुस ते दयितः सखा भीमस्य वचनाद राज्ञस तवाम अन्वेष्टुम इहागतः ॥ ३-६५-२७ ॥
'He addressed her, saying, "O princess of Vidarbha, I am Sudeva, the beloved friend of your brother. I have come here, prompted by King Bhima, to seek you."' ॥ 3-65-27 ॥
english translation
कुशली ते पिता राज्ञि जनित्री भरातरश च ते आयुष्मन्तौ कुशलिनौ तत्रस्थौ दारुकौ च ते तवत्कृते बन्धुवर्गाश च गतसत्त्वा इवासते ॥ ३-६५-२८ ॥
'Your father and mother are well, and your brothers, too, are in good health. Your son and daughter, blessed with long life, are living in peace. Yet, your relatives, though alive, languish in sorrow for your sake, while countless Brahmanas are tirelessly searching the world for you.' ॥ 3-65-28 ॥

अभिज्ञाय सुदेवं तु दमयन्ती युधिष्ठिर पर्यपृच्छत ततः सर्वान करमेण सुहृदः सवकान ॥ ३-६५-२९ ॥
'Vrihadaswa continued, "O Yudhishthira, upon recognizing Sudeva, Damayanti inquired about each of her relatives and kinsmen with great concern, seeking news of them one after another."' ॥ 3-65-29 ॥

रुरॊद च भृशं राजन वैदर्भी शॊककर्शिता दृष्ट्वा सुदेवं सहसा भरातुर इष्टं दविजॊत्तमम ॥ ३-६५-३० ॥
'And, O monarch, the princess of Vidarbha, overwhelmed by sorrow, began to weep uncontrollably at the sight of Sudeva, the esteemed Brahmana and friend of her brother.' ॥ 3-65-30 ॥
