तस्य राज्ञः सुतॊ वीरः शरीमान सत्यपराक्रमः करमप्राप्तं पितुः सवं यॊ राज्यं समनुशास्ति ह ॥ ३-६१-४६ ॥
'The son of that king, valiant and handsome, endowed with indomitable energy, rules justly over the kingdom inherited from his father.' ॥ 3-61-46 ॥
english translation
नलॊ नामारिदमनः पुण्यश्लॊक इति शरुतः बरह्मण्यॊ वेदविद वाग्मी पुण्यकृत सॊमपॊ ऽगनिचित ॥ ३-६१-४७ ॥
'His name is Nala. Know, O mountain, that he is also known as Punyasloka, blessed with a golden complexion, devoted to the Brahmanas, well-versed in the Vedas, and gifted in eloquence.' ॥ 3-61-47 ॥
english translation
यष्टा दाता च यॊद्धा च सम्यक चैव परशासिता तस्य माम अचलश्रेष्ठ विद्धि भार्याम इहागताम ॥ ३-६१-४८ ॥
'This righteous king, who drinks Soma and worships fire, is renowned for his sacrifices and boundless generosity.' ॥ 3-61-48 ॥
english translation
तयक्तश्रियं भर्तृहीनाम अनाथां वयसनान्विताम अन्वेषमाणां भर्तारं तं वै नरवरॊत्तमम ॥ ३-६१-४९ ॥
'I am the innocent spouse, the chief of his queens, standing before you, of that righteous king who drinks the Soma, reveres the fire, generously performs sacrifices, is valiant in battle, and metes out just punishment to wrongdoers.' ॥ 3-61-49 ॥
english translation
खम उल्लिखद्भिर एतैर हि तवया शृङ्गशतैर नृपः कच चिद दृष्टॊ ऽचलश्रेष्ठ वने ऽसमिन दारुणे नलः ॥ ३-६१-५० ॥
'Deprived of my fortune and bereft of my husband, left without a protector and burdened by misfortune, I have come to you, O best of mountains, in search of my beloved.' ॥ 3-61-50 ॥
