निशम्य दमयन्त्यास तत करुणं परिदेवितम निश्चयं परमं तथ्यम अनुरागं च नैषधे ॥ ३-५४-२१ ॥
'Hearing the heartrending words of Damayanti and recognizing her steadfast resolve and passionate love for the king of Nishadha, as well as the purity of her heart and her deep affection for Nala, the gods complied with her entreaty.' ॥ 3-54-21 ॥
english translation
nizamya damayantyAsa tata karuNaM paridevitama nizcayaM paramaM tathyama anurAgaM ca naiSadhe ॥ 3-54-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमनॊविशुद्धिं बुद्धिं च भक्तिं रागं च भारत यथॊक्तं चक्रिरे देवाः सामर्थ्यं लिङ्गधारणे ॥ ३-५४-२२ ॥
'Thus, the gods, aware of her pure mind, intellect, devotion, and passion, manifested their divine qualities, each assuming the appropriate attributes as described.' ॥ 3-54-22 ॥
english translation
manòvizuddhiM buddhiM ca bhaktiM rAgaM ca bhArata yathòktaM cakrire devAH sAmarthyaM liGgadhAraNe ॥ 3-54-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसापश्यद विबुधान सर्वान अस्वेदान सतब्धलॊचनान हृषितस्रग रजॊहीनान सथितान अस्पृशतः कषितिम ॥ ३-५४-२३ ॥
'And thereupon, she beheld the celestials, their forms untouched by perspiration, with unwavering eyes and garlands that never faded, standing pristine and unblemished, as if they did not touch the earth beneath them.' ॥ 3-54-23 ॥

sApazyada vibudhAna sarvAna asvedAna satabdhalòcanAna hRSitasraga rajòhInAna sathitAna aspRzataH kaSitima ॥ 3-54-23 ॥

'And Naishadha stood revealed before her, his garlands faded and stained with dust and sweat, resting on the ground with blinking eyes.' ॥ 3-54-24 ॥

chAyAdvitIyò malAnasraga rajaHsvedasamanvitaH bhUmiSThò naiSadhaza caiva nimeSeNa ca sUcitaH ॥ 3-54-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसा समीक्ष्य ततॊ देवान पुण्यश्लॊकं च भारत नैषधं वरयाम आस भैमी धर्मेण भारत ॥ ३-५४-२५ ॥
'And, O Bharata, perceiving the divine beings and the virtuous Nala, the daughter of Bhima chose Naishadha, adhering steadfastly to her truth.' ॥ 3-54-25 ॥
