न तस्याश्वॊ न च रथॊ न भराता न च बान्धवाः वने निवसतॊ राजञ शिष्यन्ते सम कदा चन ॥ ३-४९-४१ ॥
'And, O King, while he lived in the forest, he had neither servants nor chariots, nor brothers or friends by his side.' ॥ 3-49-41 ॥
english translation
भवान हि संवृतॊ वीरैर भरातृभिर देव संमितैः बरह्मकल्पैर दविजाग्र्यैश च तस्मान नार्हसि शॊचितुम ॥ ३-४९-४२ ॥
'In contrast, you are surrounded by your valiant brothers, who are like celestial beings, and by esteemed sages akin to Brahma himself. Therefore, it is unbecoming of you to grieve.' ॥ 3-49-42 ॥
english translation
[य] विस्तरेणाहम इच्छामि नलस्य सुमहात्मनः चरितं वदतां शरेष्ठ तन ममाख्यातुम अर्हसि ॥ ३-४९-४३ ॥
'Yudhishthira said, "I am eager to hear in detail, O foremost among eloquent speakers, the tale of the illustrious Nala. Therefore, it is fitting that you relate it to me."' ॥ 3-49-43 ॥
