वृष्णयॊ वा महेष्वासा पाञ्चाला वा महौजसः युधि सत्याभिसंधेन वासुदेवेन रक्षिताः परधक्ष्यन्ति रणे पार्थाः पुत्राणां मम वाहिनीम ॥ ३-४८-६ ॥
'The mighty warriors of the Vrishnis, the energetic Panchalas, and the sons of Pritha themselves, led by the unstoppable Vasudeva, will obliterate my legions.' ॥ 3-48-6 ॥
english translation
राम कृष्ण परणीतानां वृष्णीनां सूतनन्दन न शक्यः सहितुं वेगः पर्वतैर अपि संयुगे ॥ ३-४८-७ ॥
'O charioteer, all the warriors on my side cannot withstand the force of the Vrishnis alone, especially under the command of Rama and Krishna.' ॥ 3-48-7 ॥
english translation
तेषां मध्ये महेष्वासॊ भीमॊ भीमपराक्रमः शक्यया वीर घातिन्या गदया विचरिष्यति ॥ ३-४८-८ ॥
'Among them will be the formidable Bhima, wielding his iron mace high, capable of defeating any hero.' ॥ 3-48-8 ॥

तथा गाण्डीवनिर्घॊषं विस्फूर्जितम इवाशनेः गदा वेगं च भीमस्य नालं सॊढुं नराधिपाः ॥ ३-४८-९ ॥
'And above the clamor, the twang of the Gandiva will resound like the thunder of the heavens. The force of Bhima's mace and the loud twang of the Gandiva are beyond the endurance of any of the kings on my side.' ॥ 3-48-9 ॥
english translation
ततॊ ऽहं सुहृदां वाचॊ दुर्यॊधन वशानुगः समरणीयाः समरिष्यामि मया या न कृताः पुरा ॥ ३-४८-१० ॥
'It is then, O Sanjaya, that I must heed the rejected counsel of my friends—counsel I should have considered in time—having been obedient to Duryodhana's voice.' ॥ 3-48-10 ॥
