बराह्मणानां सहस्राणि सनातकानां महात्मनाम दश मॊक्षविदां तद्वद यान बिभर्ति युधिष्ठिरः ॥ ३-४७-६ ॥
'And there were ten thousand illustrious Snataka Brahmanas, all well-versed in the means of salvation, whom Yudhishthira supported in the forest.' ॥ 3-47-6 ॥
english translation
रुरून कृष्णमृगांश चैव मेध्यांश चान्यान वनेचरान बाणैर उन्मथ्य विधिवद बराह्मणेभ्यॊ नयवेदयत ॥ ३-४७-७ ॥
'After hunting Rurus, black deer, and other clean animals of the wilderness with arrows, he presented them to the Brahmanas.' ॥ 3-47-7 ॥
english translation
न तत्र कश चिद दुर्वर्णॊ वयाधितॊ वाप्य अदृश्यत कृशॊ वा दुर्बलॊ वापि दीनॊ भीतॊ ऽपि वा नरः ॥ ३-४७-८ ॥
'And no one living with Yudhishthira appeared pale or ill, nor were they lean, weak, melancholic, or fearful.' ॥ 3-47-8 ॥
english translation
पुत्रान इव परियाञ जञातीन भरातॄन इव सहॊदरान पुपॊष कौरवश्रेष्ठॊ धर्मराजॊ युधिष्ठिरः ॥ ३-४७-९ ॥
'And the chief of the Kurus, the virtuous King Yudhishthira, treated his brothers as if they were his own sons and cared for his relatives as if they were his own brothers.' ॥ 3-47-9 ॥
english translation
पतींश च दरौपदी सर्वान दविजांश चैव यशस्विनी मातेव भॊजयित्वाग्रे शिष्टम आहारयत तदा ॥ ३-४७-१० ॥
'And Draupadi of pure fame fed her husbands and the Brahmanas as if she were their mother, and she took her own food only after serving them all.' ॥ 3-47-10 ॥
