पराचीं राजा दक्षिणां भीमसेनॊ; यमौ परतीचीम अथ वाप्य उदीचीम धनुर्धरा मांसहेतॊर मृगाणां; कषयं चक्रुर नित्यम एवॊपगम्य ।। ३-४७-११ ।।

sanskrit

'And the king went east, while Bhima headed south, and the twin Aswins ventured west and north. Each day, they hunted the forest deer with their bows for the sake of meat.' ।। 3-47-11 ।।

english translation

parAcIM rAjA dakSiNAM bhImasenò; yamau paratIcIma atha vApya udIcIma dhanurdharA mAMsahetòra mRgANAM; kaSayaM cakrura nityama evòpagamya || 3-47-11 ||

तथा तेषां वसतां काम्यके वै; विहीनानाम अर्जुनेनॊत्सुकानाम पञ्चैव वर्षाणि तदा वयतीयुर; अधीयतां जपतां जुह्वतां च ।। ३-४७-१२ ।।

'The Pandavas lived for five years in the woods of Kamyaka, anxious over Arjuna's absence, and throughout that time, they devoted themselves to study, prayers, and sacrifices.' ।। 3-47-12 ।।

tathA teSAM vasatAM kAmyake vai; vihInAnAma arjunenòtsukAnAma paJcaiva varSANi tadA vayatIyura; adhIyatAM japatAM juhvatAM ca || 3-47-12 ||
