मन्ये मन्युसमुद्धूताः पुत्राणां तव संयुगे अन्तं पार्थाः करिष्यन्ति वीर्यामर्ष समन्विताः ॥ ३-४६-३१ ॥
'Incensed by the insult to their wedded wife, Pritha's sons, driven by wrath, will surely slay all your sons in battle.' ॥ 3-46-31 ॥
english translation
[धृ] किं कृतं सूत कर्णेन वदता परुषं वचः पर्याप्तं वैरम एतावद यत कृष्णा सा सभां गता ॥ ३-४६-३२ ॥
'Dhritarashtra said, 'O charioteer, what mischief has Karna caused by uttering those cruel words against the sons of Pandu? Was it not enough to provoke enmity by bringing Krishna into the assembly?'' ॥ 3-46-32 ॥
english translation
अपीदानीं मम सुतास तिष्ठेरन मन्दचेतसः येषां भराता गुरुर जयेष्ठॊ विनये नावतिष्ठते ॥ ३-४६-३३ ॥
'How can my wicked sons survive, when their eldest brother and teacher does not walk the path of righteousness?' ॥ 3-46-33 ॥
english translation
ममापि वचनं सूत न शुश्रूषति मन्दभाक दृष्ट्वा मां चक्षुषा हीनं निर्विचेष्टम अचेतनम ॥ ३-४६-३४ ॥
'Seeing me blind and incapable of action, my wretched son believes me to be a fool, O charioteer, and does not heed my words.' ॥ 3-46-34 ॥

ये चास्य सचिवा मन्दाः कर्ण सौबलकादयः ते ऽपय अस्य भूयसॊ दॊषान वर्धयन्ति विचेतसः ॥ ३-४६-३५ ॥
'Those wretches who are his counselors—Karna, Suvala, and others—merely indulge his vices, as he is incapable of understanding things rightly.' ॥ 3-46-35 ॥
