दुःशासनस्य ता वाचः शरुत्वा ते दारुणॊदयाः कर्णस्य च महाराज न सवप्स्यन्तीति मे मतिः ॥ ३-४६-२१ ॥
'Hearing the cruel words of Duhshasana and Karna, they have become so incensed, O king, that I believe they will not forgive the Kurus on my behalf.' ॥ 3-46-21 ॥

शरुतं हि ते महाराज यथा पार्थेन संयुगे एकादश तनुः सथाणुर धनुषा परितॊषितः ॥ ३-४६-२२ ॥
'I have heard, O king, how Arjuna has pleased in battle the god of gods, Sthanu, who manifests in eleven forms, with his bow.' ॥ 3-46-22 ॥

कैरातं वेषम आस्थाय यॊधयाम आस फल्गुनम जिज्ञासुः सर्वदेवेशः कपर्दी भगवान सवयम ॥ ३-४६-२३ ॥
'The illustrious lord of all the gods, Kapardin himself, desiring to test Phalguna, assumed the guise of a Kirata and fought with him.' ॥ 3-46-23 ॥

तत्रैनं लॊकपालास ते दर्शयाम आसुर अर्जुनम अस्त्रहेतॊः पराक्रान्तं तपसा कौरवर्षभम ॥ ३-४६-२४ ॥
'And there, the Lokapala revealed themselves to the bull of the Kuru race, intending to bestow their weapons upon him, acknowledging his undiminished prowess.' ॥ 3-46-24 ॥

नैतद उत्सहते ऽनयॊ हि लब्धुम अन्यत्र फल्गुनात साक्षाद दर्शनम एतेषाम ईश्वराणां नरॊ भुवि ॥ ३-४६-२५ ॥
'What other man on earth, except Phalguna, would dare to seek a glimpse of these gods in their true forms?' ॥ 3-46-25 ॥
