कषणेन तद वनं सर्वं निःशब्दम अभवत तदा नादः परस्रवणानां च पक्षिणां चाप्य उपारमत ॥ ३-४०-६ ॥

'O King, that region suddenly erupted in beauty with the arrival of the supreme deity and his divine entourage. Shortly thereafter, a profound stillness enveloped the place; the sounds of springs, streams, and birds ceased abruptly.' ॥ 3-40-6 ॥

english translation

kaSaNena tada vanaM sarvaM niHzabdama abhavata tadA nAdaH parasravaNAnAM ca pakSiNAM cApya upAramata ॥ 3-40-6 ॥
