तस्य मूर्ध्नि शितं खड्गम असक्तं पर्वतेष्व अपि मुमॊच भुजवीर्येण पफालासि वरॊ हि सः तस्य मूर्धानम आसाद्य पफालासि वरॊ हि सः ॥ ३-४०-४१ ॥
'Then the Kuru prince, with all his strength, brought that sharp weapon down upon the head of the Kirata—a weapon that could not be resisted even by solid rocks. Yet, upon striking the Kirata's crown, the mighty sword shattered into pieces.' ॥ 3-40-41 ॥
