शिष्टैर आचरितं धर्मं कृष्णे मा समातिशङ्किथाः पुराणम ऋषिभिः परॊक्तं सर्वज्ञैः सर्वदर्शिभिः ॥ ३-३२-२१ ॥
'Do not doubt, O Krishna, the ancient religion practiced by the virtuous and established by all-knowing Rishis with universal insight. ' ॥ 3-32-21 ॥
english translation
धर्म एव्व पलवॊ नान्यः सवर्गं दरौपदि गच्छताम सैव नौः सागरस्येव वणिजः पारम ऋच्छतः ॥ ३-३२-२२ ॥
'O daughter of Drupada, righteousness is the sole raft for those seeking to reach heaven, just as a ship is for merchants crossing the ocean.' ॥ 3-32-22 ॥
english translation
अफालॊ यदि धर्मः सयाच चरितॊ धर्मचारिभिः अप्रतिष्ठे तमस्य एतञ जगन मज्जेद अनिन्दिते ॥ ३-३२-२३ ॥
'O faultless one, if the virtues practiced by the virtuous yielded no fruits, this universe would be shrouded in utter darkness.' ॥ 3-32-23 ॥
english translation
निर्वाणं नाधिगच्छेयुर जीवेयुः पशुजीविकाम विघातेनैव युज्येयुर न चार्थं किं चिद आप्नुयुः ॥ ३-३२-२४ ॥
'They may not attain liberation (nirvana), They may live the life of animals, They may be afflicted with obstacles, And they may not achieve any purpose.' ॥ 3-32-24 ॥
english translation
तपश च बरह्मचर्यं च यज्ञः सवाध्याय एव च दानम आर्जवम एतानि यदि सयुर अफलानि वै ॥ ३-३२-२५ ॥
'If austerity, celibacy, sacrifices, Vedic study, charity, and honesty were indeed fruitless,' ॥ 3-32-25 ॥
