गत्वॊत्तरायणं तेजॊ रसान उद्धृत्य रश्मिभिः दक्षिणायनम आवृत्तॊ महीं निविशते रविः ॥ ३-३-६ ॥
'He first moved towards the northern declination, drawing up water with his rays. Returning to the southern declination, he remained stationed above the earth, concentrating his heat.' ॥ 3-3-6 ॥
english translation
कषेत्रभूते ततस तस्मिन्न ओषधीर ओषधी पतिः दिवस तेजः समुद्धृत्य जनयाम आस वारिणा ॥ ३-३-७ ॥
'Meanwhile, the lord of the vegetable world (the Moon), transformed the vapors of the Sun into clouds, which then released the water as rain, causing plants to sprout.' ॥ 3-3-7 ॥

निषिक्तश चन्द्र तेजॊभिः सूयते भूगतॊ रविः ओषध्यः षड्रसा मेध्यास तदन्नं पराणिनां भुवि ॥ ३-३-८ ॥
'Thus, the Sun, infused with the lunar influence, transforms into sacred vegetation upon the sprouting of seeds. These plants, endowed with the six tastes, become the sustenance for all creatures on earth.' ॥ 3-3-8 ॥

एवं भानुमयं हय अन्नं भूतानां पराणधारणम पितैष सर्वभूतानां तस्मात तं शरणं वरज ॥ ३-३-९ ॥
'Consequently, the food that sustains life is imbued with solar energy, making the Sun the source and sustainer of all life. Therefore, O Yudhishthira, seek refuge in the Sun.' ॥ 3-3-9 ॥

राजानॊ हि महात्मानॊ यॊनिकर्म विशॊधिताः उद्धरन्ति परजाः सर्वास तप आस्थाय पुष्कलम ॥ ३-३-१० ॥
'Illustrious monarchs of noble lineage and virtuous deeds have always delivered their subjects through high asceticism.' ॥ 3-3-10 ॥
