जयॊ विशालॊ वरदः शीघ्रगः पराणधारणः धन्वन्तरिर धूमकेतुर आदिदेवॊ ऽदितेः सुतः ॥ ३-३-२६ ॥
'The sun, who is the conqueror (Jaya), the expansive one (Viśāla), the granter of boons (Varada), the swift one (Śīghragā), the sustainer of life (Prāṇadhāraṇa), the healer (Dhanvantari), the comet (Dhūmaketu), the primordial deity (Ādideva), and the son of Aditi (Aditiḥ Sutah), embodies a vast array of divine powers and characteristics.' ॥ 3-3-26 ॥

jayò vizAlò varadaH zIghragaH parANadhAraNaH dhanvantarira dhUmaketura Adidevò 'diteH sutaH ॥ 3-3-26 ॥

'The sun, who is the twelve-lotus-eyed (Dvādaśātmāravindākṣa), the father (Pita), the mother (Mātā), the grandfather (Pitāmaha), the gate to heaven (Svaradvāra), the gateway to creatures (Prajādvāra), the door to liberation (Mokṣadvāra), and the ruler of the three worlds (Triviṣṭapa), encompasses all these roles and forms.' ॥ 3-3-27 ॥

davAdazAtmAravindAkSaH pitA mAtA pitAmahaH savargadvAraM parajA davAraM mòkSadvAraM tariviSTapama ॥ 3-3-27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेहकर्ता परशान्तात्मा विश्वात्मा विश्वतॊमुखः चराचरात्मा सूक्ष्मात्मा मैत्रेण वपुषान्वितः ॥ ३-३-२८ ॥
'He who is the creator of the body (Dehakṛta), the serene soul (Paraśāntātman), the essence of the universe (Viśvātman), the face of all existence (Viśvato-mukha), the soul of all that moves and is stationary (Carācarātman), the subtle self (Sūkṣmātman), and one who is accompanied by kindness in form (Maitreṇa Vapuṣānvitaḥ).' ॥ 3-3-28 ॥

'These are indeed the one hundred and eight holy names of the great Sun, as declared by the mighty Shakra.' ॥ 3-3-29 ॥

etada vai kIrtanIyasya sUryasyaiva mahAtmanaH nAmnAma aSTa zataM puNyaM zakreNòktaM mahAtmanA ॥ 3-3-29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशक्राच च नारदः पराप्तॊ धौम्यश च तदनन्तरम धौम्याद युधिष्ठिरः पराप्य सर्वान कामान अवाप्तवान ॥ ३-३-३० ॥
'Following this, Narada received the names from Shakra, and Dhaumya, in turn, transmitted them to Yudhishthira. Thus, Yudhishthira, having received these names from Dhaumya, attained the fulfillment of all his desires.' ॥ 3-3-30 ॥
