[यक्स] किं सविद आपततां शरेष्ठं बीजं निपततां वरम किं सवित परतिष्ठमानानां किं सवित परवदतां वरम ॥ ३-२९७-३६ ॥
'The Yaksha said: "What is the best among all troubles that befall men? What is the supreme seed from which troubles fall? What is the best among all things that are established? What is the best among all things spoken?"' ॥ 3-297-36 ॥
english translation
[य] वर्षम आपततां शरेष्ठं बीजं निपततां वरम गावः परतिष्ठमानानां पुत्रः परवदतां वरः ॥ ३-२९७-३७ ॥
'Yudhishthira answered: "To those who cultivate the land, rain is of foremost value; to those who sow, seed is of utmost importance; to those who nurture life, offspring is the greatest treasure."' ॥ 3-297-37 ॥
english translation
[यक्स] इन्द्रियार्थान अनुभवन बुद्धिमाँल लॊकपूजितः संमतः सर्वभूतानाम उच्छ्वसन कॊ न जीवति ॥ ३-२९७-३८ ॥
'The Yaksha said: "The wise man, who enjoys sense objects and is revered by the world, accepted by all beings—who then does not live by breathing?"' ॥ 3-297-38 ॥
english translation
[य] देवतातिथिभृत्यानां पितॄणाम आत्मनश च यः न निर्वपति पञ्चानाम उच्छ्वसन न स जीवति ॥ ३-२९७-३९ ॥
'Yudhishthira said: "One who does not offer/provide for these five - the gods, guests, servants, ancestors, and oneself - though breathing, does not truly live.' ॥ 3-297-39 ॥
english translation
[यक्स] किं सविद गुरुतरं भूमेः किं सविद उच्चतरं च खात किं सविच छीघ्रतरं वायॊः किं सविद बहुतरं नृणाम ॥ ३-२९७-४० ॥
'The Yaksha asked: "What is weightier than the earth itself? What stands higher than the heavens? What is swifter than the wind? And what is more numerous than the grass?"' ॥ 3-297-40 ॥
