अरणी सहितं मह्यं समासक्तं वनस्पतौ मृगस्य घर्षमाणस्य विषाणे समसज्जत ॥ ३-२९५-८ ॥
'Once, as a deer wandered restlessly through the woods, it so happened that the fire-producing sticks and a churning staff belonging to a Brahmana devoted to ascetic practices became entangled in its antlers.' ॥ 3-295-8 ॥
