धन्या दरक्ष्यन्ति पुत्र तवां पुनर यौवनगे मुखे हिमवद्वनसंभूतं सिंहं केसरिणं यथा ।। ३-२९२-२१ ।।

'And blessed too is she who will witness you in the prime of your youth—rising in strength and grace like a lion with a flowing mane, born in the mighty forests of the Himalayas.' ।। 3-292-21 ।।

dhanyA darakSyanti putra tavAM punara yauvanage mukhe himavadvanasaMbhUtaM siMhaM kesariNaM yathA || 3-292-21 ||

एवं बहुविधं राजन विलप्य करुणं पृथा अवासृजत मञ्जूषाम अश्वनद्यास तदा जले ।। ३-२९२-२२ ।।

'O King, having bewailed long and piteously, Pritha gently set the basket afloat upon the waters of the Aswa River.' ।। 3-292-22 ।।

evaM bahuvidhaM rAjana vilapya karuNaM pRthA avAsRjata maJjUSAma azvanadyAsa tadA jale || 3-292-22 ||

रुदती पुत्रशॊकार्ता निशीथे कमलेक्षणा धात्र्या सह पृथा राजन पुत्रदर्शनलालसा ।। ३-२९२-२३ ।।

'The lotus-eyed maiden, deeply grieved for her son and weeping bitterly, along with her nurse, cast the basket into the river at dead of night. Though she longed to see her son again and again.' ।। 3-292-23 ।।

'She returned to the palace, O monarch, fearful that her father might discover what had transpired.' ।। 3-292-24 ।।

visarjayitvA maJjUSAM saMbhòdhana bhayAta pituH viveza rAjabhavanaM punaH zòkAturA tataH || 3-292-24 ||

मञ्जूषा तव अश्वनद्याः सा ययौ चर्मण्वतीं नदीम चर्मण्वत्याश च यमुनां ततॊ गङ्गां जगाम अह ।। ३-२९२-२५ ।।

'Meanwhile, the basket drifted from the river Aswa to the Charmanwati, from there to the Yamuna, and at last to the sacred Ganga.' ।। 3-292-25 ।।
