आत्मप्रदानं दुर्धर्ष तव कृत्वा सती तव अहम तवयि धर्मॊ यशॊ चैव कीर्तिर आयुश च देहिनाम ॥ ३-२९१-११ ॥
'May I remain ever pure, even after surrendering myself to thee. For surely, in thee dwell the virtue, the honor, the fame, and the very life of all living beings.' ॥ 3-291-11 ॥
english translation
[सूर्य] न ते पिता न ते माता गुरवॊ वा शुचिस्मिते परभवन्ति वरारॊहे भद्रं ते शृणु मे वचः ॥ ३-२९१-१२ ॥
'Hearing her words, Surya replied: "O sweet-smiling maiden, neither thy father, nor thy mother, nor any other elder has the power to give thee away. May good fortune be thine, O beautiful one! Hear now what I say."' ॥ 3-291-12 ॥
english translation
सर्वान कामयते यस्मात कनेर धातॊश च भामिनि तस्मात कन्येह सुश्रॊणि सवतन्त्रा वरवर्णिनि ॥ ३-२९१-१३ ॥
'It is because a maiden naturally desires union that she is called Kanyā, derived from the root kāma, meaning 'to desire.' Therefore, O thou of shapely hips and radiant complexion, a virgin is, by nature, her own mistress in this world.' ॥ 3-291-13 ॥
english translation
नाधर्मश चरितः कश चित तवया भवति भामिनि अधर्मं कुत एवाहं चरेयं लॊककाम्यया ॥ ३-२९१-१४ ॥
'O noble lady, by yielding to my request, you shall in no way incur sin. And how could I, who seek the welfare of all beings, ever engage in an unrighteous act?' ॥ 3-291-14 ॥
english translation
अनावृताः सत्रियः सर्वा नराश च वरवर्णिनि सवभाव एष लॊकानां विकारॊ ऽनय इति समृतः ॥ ३-२९१-१५ ॥
'That men and women should be bound by no restraints is the law of nature; what is otherwise is a deviation from that natural state.' ॥ 3-291-15 ॥
