तथेति बराह्मणेनॊक्ते स राजा परीतिमानसः हंसचन्द्राश्मु संकाशं गृहम अस्य नयवेदयत ॥ ३-२८८-१६ ॥

'Hearing the monarch’s words, the Brahmana replied, “So be it!” Then the king, well pleased, assigned to him chambers radiant in whiteness — like the plumage of swans or the beams of the moon.' ॥ 3-288-16 ॥

english translation

tatheti barAhmaNenòkte sa rAjA parItimAnasaH haMsacandrAzmu saMkAzaM gRhama asya nayavedayata ॥ 3-288-16 ॥

तत्राग्निशरणे कॢप्तम आनसं तस्य भानुमत आहारादि च सर्वं तत तथैव परत्यवेदयत ॥ ३-२८८-१७ ॥

'Within the room dedicated to the sacrificial fire, the king placed a resplendent seat, crafted expressly for the Brahmana. The provisions of food and other necessities offered to him were of the finest kind.' ॥ 3-288-17 ॥

tatrAgnizaraNe klRptama AnasaM tasya bhAnumata AhArAdi ca sarvaM tata tathaiva paratyavedayata ॥ 3-288-17 ॥

निक्षिप्य राजपुत्री तु तन्द्रीं मानं तथैव च आतस्थे परमं यत्नं बराह्मणस्याभिराधने ॥ ३-२८८-१८ ॥

'And casting aside all idleness and pride, the princess wholeheartedly devoted herself to the service of the Brahmana.' ॥ 3-288-18 ॥

english translation

nikSipya rAjaputrI tu tandrIM mAnaM tathaiva ca Atasthe paramaM yatnaM barAhmaNasyAbhirAdhane ॥ 3-288-18 ॥

तत्र सा बराह्मणं गत्वा पृथा शौचपरा सती विधिवत परिचारार्हं देववत पर्यतॊषयत ॥ ३-२८८-१९ ॥

'The chaste Kunti, endowed with purity of conduct, went there with the firm resolve to serve him. Attending upon that Brahmana with the reverence due to a deity, she pleased him exceedingly.' ॥ 3-288-19 ॥
