सुप्तश चाहं वेदनया चिरम इत्य उपलक्षये तावत कालं च न मया सुप्त पूर्वं कदा चन ॥ ३-२८२-३१ ॥
'I lay unconscious, tormented by pain, for a long time; never before had I experienced such an extended slumber.' ॥ 3-282-31 ॥
english translation
suptaza cAhaM vedanayA cirama itya upalakSaye tAvata kAlaM ca na mayA supta pUrvaM kadA cana ॥ 3-282-31 ॥
hk transliteration by SanscriptLet there be no grief among you all- Hence, my late arrival at night has no other reason-

'Gautama then said, "Thou knowest not the cause of thy father’s sudden restoration of sight. Therefore, it behoveth Savitri to recount it.' ॥ 3-282-33 ॥

[gautama] akasmAca cakSura aH parAptira dayumatsenasya te pituH nAsya tavaM kAraNaM vettha sAvitrI vaktuma arhati ॥ 3-282-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशरॊतुम इच्छामि सावित्रि तवं हि वेत्थ परावरम तवां हि जानामि सावित्रि सावित्रीम इव तेजसा ॥ ३-२८२-३४ ॥
'I wish to hear it from thee, for surely thou art well versed in the mysteries of good and evil. And, O Savitri, I know thee to shine with the radiance of the goddess Savitri herself.' ॥ 3-282-34 ॥

zaròtuma icchAmi sAvitri tavaM hi vettha parAvarama tavAM hi jAnAmi sAvitri sAvitrIma iva tejasA ॥ 3-282-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतवम अत्र हेतुं जानीषे तस्मात सत्यं निरुच्यताम रहस्यं यदि ते नास्ति किं चिद अत्र वदस्व नः ॥ ३-२८२-३५ ॥
'Thou must know the cause of this; therefore, speak it truthfully! If it is no secret, then unfold it unto us!' ॥ 3-282-35 ॥

tavama atra hetuM jAnISe tasmAta satyaM nirucyatAma rahasyaM yadi te nAsti kiM cida atra vadasva naH ॥ 3-282-35 ॥
