'Then Saivya, Satyavan, and Savitri, standing quietly to one side, took their seats—free from sorrow—having received the gracious leave of all present.' ॥ 3-282-26 ॥

'O illustrious one, why didst thou not return earlier with thy wife? Why hast thou come so late in the night? What hindered thy coming?' ॥ 3-282-28 ॥

संतापितः पिता माता वयं चैव नृपात्मज नाकस्माद इति जानीमस तत सर्वं वक्तुम अर्हसि ॥ ३-२८२-२९ ॥
'We know not, O son of a king, what has caused such deep anxiety to us and to thy father and mother. It behoveth thee now to tell us all that has passed.' ॥ 3-282-29 ॥
