स बालवत्सया सार्धं भार्यया परस्थितॊ वनम महारण्यगतश चापि तपस तेपे महाव्रतः ॥ ३-२७८-९ ॥
'Then the king, with his faithful wife carrying their young child at her breast, departed for the forest. Dwelling amidst the wilderness, he took up lofty vows and engaged in severe asceticism.' ॥ 3-278-9 ॥
