कषमावान अनपत्यश च सत्यवाग विजितेन्द्रियः अतिक्रान्तेन वयसा संतापम उपजग्मिवान ॥ ३-२७७-७ ॥

sanskrit

'Devoted to the welfare of all beings, that forgiving monarch — truthful in speech and master of his senses — remained without an heir. In his advancing years, he was stricken with grief over his childlessness.' ॥ 3-277-7 ॥

english translation

kaSamAvAna anapatyaza ca satyavAga vijitendriyaH atikrAntena vayasA saMtApama upajagmivAna ॥ 3-277-7 ॥
