तस्य देहाद विनिष्क्रान्ताः शतशॊ ऽथ सहस्रशः राक्षसाः पत्यदृश्यन्त शरशक्त्यृष्टिपाणयः ॥ ३-२७४-६ ॥
'And from his very body sprang forth Hundreds and thousands of Rakshasas, Armed with arrows, lances, and double-edged swords, Spreading terror across the battlefield.' ॥ 3-274-6 ॥

tasya dehAda viniSkrAntAH zatazò 'tha sahasrazaH rAkSasAH patyadRzyanta zarazaktyRSTipANayaH ॥ 3-274-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतान रामॊ जघ्निवान सर्वान दिव्येनास्त्रेण राक्षसान अथ भूयॊ ऽपि मायां स वयदधाद राक्षसाधिपः ॥ ३-२७४-७ ॥
'Yet Rama, with a celestial weapon, Slew all those Rakshasas with ease. Then the ten-faced king, master of illusion, Once more unleashed his sorcery.' ॥ 3-274-7 ॥

tAna rAmò jaghnivAna sarvAna divyenAstreNa rAkSasAna atha bhUyò 'pi mAyAM sa vayadadhAda rAkSasAdhipaH ॥ 3-274-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकृत्वा रामस्य रूपाणि लक्ष्मणस्य च भारत अभिदुद्राव रामं च लक्ष्मणं च दशाननः ॥ ३-२७४-८ ॥
'From his own body, he conjured warriors, Bearing the very forms of Rama and Lakshmana, And with this army of phantoms, He rushed upon the two brothers, O Bharata.' ॥ 3-274-8 ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptततस ते रामम अर्छन्तॊ लक्ष्मणं च कषपाचराः अभिपेतुस तदा राजन परगृहीतॊच्च कार्मुकाः ॥ ३-२७४-९ ॥
'And then those Rakshasas, Hostile to Rama and Lakshmana, Armed with bows and deadly arrows, Rushed fiercely toward the prince.' ॥ 3-274-9 ॥

tatasa te rAmama archantò lakSmaNaM ca kaSapAcarAH abhipetusa tadA rAjana paragRhItòcca kArmukAH ॥ 3-274-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतां दृष्ट्वा राक्षसेन्द्रस्य मायाम इक्ष्वाकुनन्दनः उवाच रामं सौमित्रिर असंभ्रान्तॊ बृहद वचः ॥ ३-२७४-१० ॥
'Beholding Ravana’s sorcery, That mighty scion of Ikshvaku’s line, Sumitra’s valiant son spoke forth, Urging Rama with these bold words:' ॥ 3-274-10 ॥

tAM dRSTvA rAkSasendrasya mAyAma ikSvAkunandanaH uvAca rAmaM saumitrira asaMbhrAntò bRhada vacaH ॥ 3-274-10 ॥
