तं राक्षस महामात्रम आपतन्तं सपत्नजित तरसा परतिजग्राह हनूमान पवनात्मजः ॥ ३-२७०-११ ॥
'Then, Hanuman, the son of Pavana and vanquisher of foes, swiftly seized the advancing Rakshasa leader.' ॥ 3-270-11 ॥

taM rAkSasa mahAmAtrama ApatantaM sapatnajita tarasA paratijagrAha hanUmAna pavanAtmajaH ॥ 3-270-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतयॊर युद्धम अभूद घॊरं हरिराक्षसवीरयॊः जिगीषतॊर युधान्यॊन्यम इन्द्र परह्लादयॊर इव ॥ ३-२७०-१२ ॥
'The battle that ensued between the monkey and the Rakshasa hero, each determined to defeat the other, was fierce and terrible, akin to the ancient clash between Indra and Prahlada.' ॥ 3-270-12 ॥

tayòra yuddhama abhUda ghòraM harirAkSasavIrayòH jigISatòra yudhAnyònyama indra parahlAdayòra iva ॥ 3-270-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगदाभिः परिघैश चैव राक्षसॊ जघ्निवान कपिम कपिश च जघ्निवान रक्षॊ सस्कन्धविटपैर दरुमैः ॥ ३-२७०-१३ ॥
'The Rakshasa struck the monkey with his maces and spiked clubs, while the monkey retaliated by hurling tree trunks, still bearing their branches, at the Rakshasa.' ॥ 3-270-13 ॥

'Then Hanuman, the son of Pavana, in great fury, slew Dhumraksha, the Rakshasa, along with his charioteer and horses, shattering his chariot into pieces.' ॥ 3-270-14 ॥

tatasa tama atikAyena sAzvaM saratha sArathima dhUmrAkSama avadhIda dhImAna hanUmAna mArutAtmajaH ॥ 3-270-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततस तं निहतं दृष्ट्वा धूम्राक्षं राक्षसॊत्तमम हरयॊ जातविस्रम्भा जघ्नुर अभ्येत्य सैनिकान ॥ ३-२७०-१५ ॥
'Seeing the mighty Dhumraksha thus slain, the monkeys, casting aside all fear, charged at the Rakshasa army with immense courage.' ॥ 3-270-15 ॥
