मार्गम इच्छामि सैन्यस्य दत्तं नदनदीपते येन गत्वा दशग्रीवं हन्यां पौलस्त्य पांसनम ॥ ३-२६७-३६ ॥
'Rama replied to him, saying, 'O lord of rivers, both male and female, I seek your help in granting me a path for my troops, by which I may reach and slay the Ten-headed Ravana, that wretch of Pulastya's race!'' ॥ 3-267-36 ॥
