ततॊ ददृशतुस तौ तं छिन्नपल्ष दवयं तथा तयॊः शशंस गृध्रस तु सीतार्थे रावणाद वधम ॥ ३-२६३-१९ ॥
'Then they saw the creature to be a bird, deprived of both its wings. The bird, in turn, told them of how Ravana had overpowered him in his attempt to rescue Sita.' ॥ 3-263-19 ॥
