कथम उत्सृज्य वैदेहीं वने राक्षससेविते इत्य एवं भरातरं दृष्ट्वा पराप्तॊ ऽसीति वयगर्हयत ॥ ३-२६३-११ ॥
'Upon seeing his brother, Rama reproached him, saying, "How could you have come here, leaving the princess of Videha in a forest haunted by Rakshasas?"' ॥ 3-263-11 ॥
english translation
मृगरूपधरेणाथ रक्षसा सॊ ऽपकर्षणम भरातुर आगमनं चैव चिन्तयन पर्यतप्यत ॥ ३-२६३-१२ ॥
'As he reflected on how he had been lured far away by the Rakshasa in the form of a deer, and realizing that his brother had left Sita alone in the hermitage, Rama was filled with deep agony.' ॥ 3-263-12 ॥
english translation
गर्हयन्न एव रामस तु तवरितस तं समासदत अपि जीवति वैदेही नेति पश्यामि लक्ष्मण ॥ ३-२६३-१३ ॥
'Reproaching Lakshmana, Rama quickly approached him and asked, "O Lakshmana, is the princess of Videha still alive? I fear she is no more!"' ॥ 3-263-13 ॥
english translation
तस्य तत सर्वम आचख्यौ सीताया लक्ष्मणॊ वचः यद उक्तवत्य असदृशं वैदेही पश्चिमं वचः ॥ ३-२६३-१४ ॥
'Then, Lakshmana recounted everything that Sita had said, particularly the strange and unbecoming words she had spoken later.' ॥ 3-263-14 ॥
english translation
दह्यमानेन तु हृदा रामॊ ऽभयपतद आश्रमम स ददर्श तदा गृध्रं निहतं पर्वतॊपमम ॥ ३-२६३-१५ ॥
'With a burning heart, Rama rushed toward the hermitage. On the way, he saw a vulture, huge as a mountain, lying in the throes of death.' ॥ 3-263-15 ॥
