एवं कुत्वा सटास तस्य पञ्च चक्रे वृकॊदरः अर्धचन्द्रेण बाणेन किं चिद अब्रुवतस तदा ॥ ३-२५६-९ ॥

'Having said these words, Vrikodara took his crescent-shaped arrow and shaved the prince’s head, leaving five tufts of hair. Jayadratha, humiliated, remained silent throughout.' ॥ 3-256-9 ॥

evaM kutvA saTAsa tasya paJca cakre vRkòdaraH ardhacandreNa bANena kiM cida abruvatasa tadA ॥ 3-256-9 ॥
