दासॊ ऽसमीति तवया वाच्यं संसत्सु च सभासु च एवं ते जीवितं दद्याम एष युद्धजितॊ विधिः ॥ ३-२५६-११ ॥

'I am your servant - this you should declare in assemblies and courts. Only then shall I grant you your life. This is the law/rule of the victorious in battle.' ॥ 3-256-11 ॥

dAsò 'samIti tavayA vAcyaM saMsatsu ca sabhAsu ca evaM te jIvitaM dadyAma eSa yuddhajitò vidhiH ॥ 3-256-11 ॥

एवम अस्त्व इति तं राजा कृच्छ्रप्राणॊ जयद्रथः परॊवाच पुरुषव्याघ्रं भीमम आहवशॊभिनम ॥ ३-२५६-१२ ॥

'Thus addressed and humiliated, King Jayadratha, trembling, dazed, and covered in dust, replied to the fierce and formidable warrior, "So be it!"' ॥ 3-256-12 ॥

तत एनं विचेष्टन्तं बद्ध्वा पार्थॊ वृकॊदरः रथम आरॊपयाम आस विसंज्ञं पांसुगुण्ठितम ॥ ३-२५६-१३ ॥

'Then Partha and Vrikodara bound the struggling Jayadratha, who was unconscious and covered in dust, and placed him onto the chariot.' ॥ 3-256-13 ॥

ततस तं रथम आस्थाय भीमः पार्थानुगस तदा अभ्येत्याश्रममध्यस्थम अभ्यगच्छद युधिष्ठिरम ॥ ३-२५६-१४ ॥

'Then Arjuna and Vrikodara bound him in chains and thrust him into a chariot. Bhima, mounting the chariot himself, drove towards the hermitage, accompanied by Arjuna.' ॥ 3-256-14 ॥

दर्शयाम आस भीमस तु तदवस्थं जयद्रथम तं राजा पराहसद दृष्ट्वा मुच्यताम इति चाब्रवीत ॥ ३-२५६-१५ ॥

'Then, approaching Yudhishthira, who was seated there, Bhima placed Jayadratha before him in that pitiable state. The king, smiling, ordered that the Sindhu prince be set free.' ॥ 3-256-15 ॥
